Technology Development
Dundarave is working on a rapid technology commercialization program directed at establishing full nickel recovery operation from sulphide nickel tailings. Dundarave plans to initiate and successfully complete ExtrEL optimization program, build a pilot plant for nickel recovery operations and scale up production based on the successful pilot plant operations.
Dundarave will carry on nickel recovery mining operations that will utilize ExtrEL nickel leaching technology. The development plan of the company envisions the acquisition and/or access to a nickel tailings pond in Canada or elsewhere. The appropriate chemical test and other analysis will have to be conducted in order to determine the suitability of a nickel tailings pond. One of the key criteria is that nickel found in the area should be sulphide based.
Once the suitable nickel tailings pond has been secured, Dundarave will move quickly to build a pilot plant to start nickel recovery operations. Depending on the outcome of the pilot operation, Dundarave intends to scale up the operations at its initial pilot plant site as well as expand to other areas with access to tailings ponds. There are a large number of sulphide nickel operations in Canada and worldwide, thus, the expansion opportunities will be substantial.
As Dundarave has been a resource company, licensing the ExtrEL technology will add a unique competitive edge to the Company's operations. Dundarave may potentially become one of the most innovative mining companies not only in Canada, but also the world with a unique and much needed capacity to recover nickel from tailings and provide a solution to ongoing environmental concerns faced by existing mining operations.
